THE LITHMORA STANDARD

AUTHENTICITY

What We Document. What We Verify. What We Do Not Overstate.

Every LITHMORA work is presented as an individual physical object. We document the exact piece, record the material characteristics that can be supported, and preserve that information as part of the object's record.

THE LITHMORA VERIFICATION STANDARD

Evidence Before Assertion.

Authenticity begins with restraint: describing the physical work precisely, documenting what can be supported, and distinguishing archive identity from independent scientific certification.

01

THE EXACT PIECE

For individually catalogued works, the object photographed is the physical object offered for acquisition.

02

THE MATERIAL RECORD

Available material information, dimensions, condition and visible physical characteristics are recorded before publication.

03

THE ARCHIVE NUMBER

One identifier connects one physical work to one LITHMORA record and distinguishes it from visually similar works.

04

DOCUMENTATION

Exact-piece photography and written catalogue information work together as a record of the object.

BOUNDARY OF THE RECORD Archive identity is not laboratory certification.
Natural stone variation, inclusions and crystal structure

MATERIAL AUTHENTICITY

Natural Stone Is Not Uniform.

Natural stone records geological variation. Colour may shift within a single piece. Crystal structures may interrupt polished surfaces. Bands, inclusions, fissures, cavities and matrix material may remain visible.

These characteristics are not automatically defects. They are part of the physical record of the material.

VEINING INCLUSIONS CAVITIES CRYSTAL STRUCTURE COLOUR VARIATION

VARIATION IS DOCUMENTED, NOT ERASED.

MATERIAL DISCLOSURE

We Describe What We Can Support.

Material descriptions distinguish observable or supported information from claims that require evidence LITHMORA may not possess.

I

WE STATE

  • Natural material where supported
  • Dimensions and weight where recorded
  • Visible physical character
  • Condition and edition information
II

WE DISCLOSE WHEN KNOWN

  • Dye or colour treatment
  • Stabilisation or enhancement
  • Composite or reconstructed material
  • Manufactured material
III

WE DO NOT INFER

  • Unsupported mine or locality
  • Laboratory-level mineral identification
  • Undocumented treatment history
  • Scientific or medical metaphysical claims

When certainty is limited, the description remains limited.

We do not present metaphysical properties as scientific or medical facts.

EXACT PIECE PHOTOGRAPHY

The Photograph Is Part of the Record.

Photography documents the individual work—not an idealised substitute. For exact-piece works, natural pattern, inclusions and physical characteristics shown should remain recognisable to the photographed object.

Lighting, screen calibration and viewing conditions may affect perceived colour. Photography is evidence of the object, not a claim that every display reproduces colour identically.

READING A LITHMORA RECORD

How to Verify a Record.

A record check begins with the identifier, then the physical character of the work.

01

MATCH THE ARCHIVE NUMBER

Compare the number supplied with the work against the order or archived product record.

02

COMPARE PHYSICAL CHARACTER

Use natural pattern, crystal structure, inclusions, colour distribution and carving details as visual reference points.

03

CONTACT LITHMORA

For a historical record check, provide the archive number and clear photographs of the physical work.
